The wait is over! The Bar One Racing Sprint Cup, Ireland's premier greyhound racing competition, kicks off this coming Saturday, July 20th at Dundalk Stadium.

This year marks over 20 years of Bar One Racing's sponsorship of the event, a testament to their enduring commitment to the sport. The competition attracts the fastest greyhounds in the country, with a whopping €20,000 purse awaiting the champion.

All eyes will be on Carrick Aldo, the reigning champion, as he attempts to defend his title. Adding even more excitement to the mix is The Other Kobe, the current Derby Champion, who will be vying for victory.

The 72 participating greyhounds have been placed in 12 heats through a draw held on Wednesday, July 17th. All 12 heats will take place this Saturday at Dundalk Stadium, with doors opening at 6:30 pm and racing starting at 7:50 pm.

In exciting news for fans, Bar One Racing's Barney O Hare announced a €10,000 bonus for any dog that wins both the Bar One Racing Sprint Cup and the Laurels competition in Curaheen Park this year. This follows last year's champion, Carrick Aldo, reaching the Laurels final.
