MULLINGAR GREYHOUND STADIUM TO PROCEED WITH RACING THIS AFTERNOON

Mullingar Greyhound Stadium has confirmed that racing will proceed as scheduled this afternoon following a review of conditions at the venue.

The welfare of greyhounds remains the priority, and a number of precautionary measures will be in place throughout the meeting to ensure the safety and comfort of all participating dogs.

Under the enhanced welfare arrangements, all greyhounds will be kept in shaded areas until the time of their race. In addition, the traditional parade before racing will not take place, with greyhounds instead proceeding directly to traps.  Water baths and additional drinking troughs will also be available.

Track officials will continue to closely monitor conditions throughout the afternoon. Any changes in weather or track conditions will be assessed throughout the meeting, and further measures will be implemented if deemed necessary.
