After becoming the first greyhound to break 29 second at Mullingar since 2004 in the second round of the Pat Curtin Memorial last weekend, Supa Mac is again expected to come home alone in tonight’s semi-finals.
Drawn on the fence in the second heat, he can race prominently into the turn, perhaps alongside Obelisk before asserting to halfway. Others that can make the frame in this contest include Breffni Moe and Ballyhealy Zip but Supa Mac looks an exciting prospect for Paul Hennessy and Paul Hynes and is selected to come home clear of Obelisk and Breffni Moe.
A WIDE-OPEN CONTEST
The opening heat is far more open.
None of the six managed to win their second-round assignments and much will depend on the start. Little separates the six on the clock but the draw may swing things in favour of the inside duo, Droopys Riveria and Delvin Man.
