Skelpers Rocket and Rozys Wild emerged tremendous winners at Dundalk on Saturday night, capturing their respective semi-finals in the valuable UP The Royals A2/A3 525.

Skelpers Rocket went marginally faster in the opening heat, leading from the early yards to emerge a good winner in a fast 28.60.

ROCKET TAKES OFF

George Matthews’ son of Ballymac Cooper and Solas An Iarthar quickly asserted and led the field by over three lengths down the back straight.

Ravenswood Cas did close around the last two bends but couldn’t get any closer and Skelpers Rocket took the verdict by two lengths. Rolo Pasha overcame early traffic to qualify in third, some five and a quarter lengths adrift.

ROZY RUNS WILD

Rozys Wild had to work a little harder in the second heat but ultimately emerged a comfortable winner for Brian Robinson.

The daughter of Dorotas Wildcat and Drumcove Rozy was second into the turn behind the fast starting Lilys Mate before taking over as they hit the back straight.

It was all pretty straightforward thereafter. Rozys Wild raced on to beat Revillo Lowry by six lengths in 28.68 with Cullmac Terry finishing just a half length further back in third.

MYSTERIO TAKES OFF

Elsewhere on the card there was a massive run over 400yds from Gizmo Mysterio.

The son of Gizmo Cash and Canyarwas electric, shooting from trap four to lead early. He was left further clear on the turn and skated home by six and a half lengths from the staying on Shadow Oftherock in 20.93.

Martin Lanney and owner Bhupinder Gandham are going to have plenty of sport with Gizmo Mysterio if he continues to run in this manner.
