NEW 2027 CENTENNIAL RACING CLUB TO BRING SUPPORTERS CLOSER TO THE ACTION. One Club. Up to 6 Dogs*. A Year to Remember.
The Irish Greyhound Owners & Breeders Federation (IGOBF) is launching an exciting new initiative for 2027 - the Centennial Racing Club - giving greyhound racing supporters the opportunity to become part of a unique racing experience for a one-off membership of €100.
The club will centre on up to 6 greyhounds*, selected by an appointed panel, with members following their progress throughout the 2027 & 2028 racing season.
The concept is simple: to bring people closer to the dogs, kennels, trainers and racing itself, while creating a community of members following the same up to 6 greyhounds* throughout the year.
Members will receive regular updates and will have opportunities for behind-the-scenes visits to greyhound stadiums and family-run training facilities. Members will also have the opportunity to take part in competitions to name the club's greyhounds.
All training, veterinary and racing entry costs associated with the up to 6 greyhounds* will be covered by the club, meaning the €100 membership is the only financial commitment required from members.
The Centennial Racing Club is not being established as a traditional ownership syndicate and members will not receive a share of racing prize money. At the conclusion of the club in 2028, any funds remaining after all club commitments and expenses have been met will be donated to the IGOBF, or directed towards similar initiatives aimed at enhancing the future of the greyhound industry.
The initiative is designed to appeal both to established greyhound racing supporters and to people who may never previously have experienced greyhound ownership or the day-to-day life of a racing kennel, providing an affordable way to become involved and enjoy the excitement of following a team throughout a racing season.
