MORE QUALITY FARE EXPECTED IN DUNDALK’S CARROLL MEMORIAL

Ian Fortune

This year’s Paddy and Eamon Carroll Memorial has already provided some outstanding action and its safe to expect more of the same this evening with both heats packed with greyhounds that will be racing in much higher grade than A3 in the future.

BUCKS AND ATLANTA TO BATTLE IT OUT

Francie Murray captured last year’s event and is double handed in the opening heat with Rolo Bucks and New Alliance capable of playing apart, although Monleek Atlanta also looks a big player for John Downey.

Pavilion Fire hasn’t carried luck in recent outings but he too has the pace to figure, although he needs to find his trapping boots. Arrigle Beauty and Up The Sleeve complete the line-up. Monleek Atlanta went fastest last week when coming home fast to win in 28.63 but Rolo Bucks went as fast in the opening round when leading early.

EXCITING DAITHI TO FIRE

Armagh Daithi looks a real prospect for Aidan McVeigh and will emerge as the one to beat in the second semi-final. The son of Ballymac Best clocked a sensational 28.49 last week and is clearly iproving with every outing.

The September ’22 whelp can emerge as the one to beat despite the presence of some talented rivals including Loskeran Liberty and Avon Jack. The former shot around in 28.63 last week and has a kind draw on the fence, while Avon Jack posted 28.73.

Armagh Daithi is going the right way, however, and in what is one of his last ever starts in graded company, can emerge a good winner yet again.
