MONK TRIALS AT SUNDERLAND

It was notable that Droopys Monk trialled at Sunderland on Monday evening.
Barry Clancy journeyed across the Irish Sea with his star and the hugely talented son of Signet Ace posted 27.54 off a 5.10 sectional. He ran a middle course and seems certain to improve considerably for the spin.
The PGR Classic gets underway at Sunderland on Friday, November 6th and one suspects that is certainly on the mind of Barry Clancy and Graham Ashe. Given his outstanding early speed, the long run to the turn and the slightly different mechanism at traps could really play to the strengths of Droopys Monk.
Should he turn out for the £20,000 to the winner Category One competition, he is sure to be amongst the favourites for outright glory. Watch this space.
