Word came through this morning of the sad passing of one of the great characters of Irish greyhound racing, John Joe O’Keeffe.
John Joe was a regular at Shelbourne Park, Harold’s Cross and Newbridge for many years and trained countless winners.
A true doggy man, John Joe loved nothing more than shooting the breeze about greyhounds and was great company. He is due to be buried this morning but we simply had to note his passing.
We would like to take this opportunity to send on our sincerest condolences to his daughter Suzanne and son David, his grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and many friends.
May He Rest In Peace.
