Barry Drake
FAHRENHEIT ACE (Grangeview Ten-Roaming Spirit) completed back-to-back winning performances in the final of the €10,000 to the winner Denis Linehan Solicitors Unraced Stake at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.
Droopys Porter led around from Droopys Monk, both of whom are trained by Barry Clancy; however, it quickly changed when Porter did Monk no favours, moving right out and pretty much stopping the run of Monk.
It opened the door for Fahrenheit Ace, and he quickly took up the running. A most impressive winner last week, he had a horrible draw out wide, but once in front, he displayed plenty of pace up front. Droopys Monk ran a cracker for second. Trained by Graham Holland for Lorraine O'Sullivan and Tony O'Connor, the 4-1 winner stuck to his task well in the closing stages to deny Droopys Monk, by three-quarters of a length, in 28.60. Croydon Web made late gains for third, a length and a half behind the runner-up. It was another fantastic event this year, and great sponsorship from Denis Linehan. We can expect the winner to go much quicker in the coming weeks, and he's an October puppy with a big future.
DAVID FITZGIBBON MEMORIAL OPEN 525
In the opening semi-final of the David Fitzgibbon Memorial Open 525, Droopys Croia (Signet Ace-Droopys Alice) bounced out in front to make all the running for trainer John Linehan and owner Sean Dunphy. The 4-6 favourite displayed all of her usual early gears, and she kept on well to beat the eye-catching Croydon Avenger, by two lengths, in 28.30. Half a length back to Shutinthedark in third place.
In the second semi-final, Ardfert Sam (Ballymac Cashout-Ardfert Josie) just had enough early speed to slip around in front. Trained by Brendan Maunsell for owners Joe Nash and Kathleen Clifford, the 6-1 outsider went on to land the spoils, in 28.21. Montana Secret was displaying plenty of speed on the back straight, but the front-running winner had all the answers. Two lengths the margin, in 28.21. After early trouble, Bockos Gold showed real pace to get third, three lengths behind the second.

LYNCH DOUBLE
Knockalough (Glengar Bale-Ruffian Rose) recovered after an ordinary start to win the €1,500 to the winner Pat O'Keeffe A3/A4 final. The 4-6 favourite kicked clear on the back straight and she held Clonavanny Blue, by four lengths, in 28.55. Trained by Kieran Lynch for the Seasiders Syndicate, the impressive winner was making it back-to-back wins.
Lynch made it a double in the fifth, an A1, as Princess Rosie (Ballymac Cashout-Peckies Flyer) displayed explosive early speed to make all the running. The 5-4 winner stopped the clock, in 28.65, winning for Vincent O'Keeffe.
Trained by Graham Holland for Brendan O'Connell, Blarney, Gaytime Clyde (Droopys Sydney-Gaytime Lilly) caught the eye in the closing race, an AA0, with the 4-6 favourite powering to a comfortable success, in 28.17. Six lengths back to Gortnagrange Jude in second.
Race four, an A0, went the way of Danzig Rebel (Ballymac Cashout-Livz Dream) for trainer James Kelleher and owners the Castlegrounds Syndicate. The 3-1 came away racing to lead, and the in-form winner came home half a length clear of Boderan Ace, in 29.70. (550).
