EXCITING MAGIC CAN LEAD THE WAY FOR BUCKLEY AT ENNISCORTHY

The Kiltrea Kenels Open Unraced continues at Enniscorthy this evening with four second round heats and a few are expected to improve considerably on their latest displays.

Pat Buckley had a night to remember in the opening round, sending out a hat trick of winners although the undoubted star of his team was Singalong Magic.

A winner in 28.87 on debut, she gave the impression she could go even faster. A sister to Friday’s brilliant BOYLE Sports A3 Bitch 525 winner at Kilkenny, Glengar Robin, she too seems to have the potential to become a star.

Despite a tough draw in five, the daughter of Shima Shine can quickly assert into the bend before running out a comfortable winner. Ushers Maty only won in 29.84 on debut but gave the impression there was far better to come. He can emerge as the main danger.

THEO SET TO EMERGE ON TOP

Many of those in action in Heat 2 look certain to improve for their opening round debut.

Chief amongst them is another Pat Buckley trained runner. Grouchos Theo moved well in qualifying trials and was sent off a 1-2 favourite for his debut. He found bad traffic but displayed enough in third to earn the nomination tonight. Of his rivals, Poppy Cool can offer the most resistance.

JACK TO SEE OFF STATION

Two of Pat Buckley’s opening round scorers are in action in Heat 3 and strong claims can be made for both Barnfield Jack and Sub Station.

The former posted 29.00 last week and has the better of the draw. He is chosen to lead home his kennel companion.

SIMPLE SIMON SAYS WIN

The final heat of the round is wide-open.

None of the six managed to make the first two last week and they can only improve. A tentative vote goes the way of another Buckley runner, Grouchos Simon, who displayed enough in trials to earn the nod.
