There were two Irish trained winners of the various Derby Trial Stakes at Towcester on Sunday with the Paul Hennessy trained Lennies Eddie going fastest.
Posting a fast 3.80 sectional, he led from start to finish in the fifth of the trial stakes, coming home three lengths clear in 28.82. Faypoint Ranger took a tumble at the opening turn in this contest.
Gaytime Joachim led from early to justify favouritism two races earlier. He had to dig deep to contain the strong running Ballymac Axel by a short head in 29.32. Priceless Romeo was fourth, while Unanimous Leo was last in the same contest.
There was mixed luck for the remaining Irish in action on the day. Donishall Sam was fourth after finding early traffic, while his kennel companion Garfiney Warrior was narrowly beaten in the following race when storming home to finish a half-length behind Dereks Legend. Lennies Dynamic was fourth in this contest, although he ran better than the result suggests.
Gaytime Clyde was second in the sixth trial stake on the card, finishing two lengths behind trap-to-line winner Zenith Jimbombom. Coloursaregreen was last in this contest after meeting traffic at the first and third turns.
