DANNY RIORDAN

It’s with sadness we must report the news that English Derby winning handler Danny Riordan has passed away.

A son of Portmagee, Kerry, Danny was based in the UK for many years, setting up a successful training operation and putting some real stars through his hands.

These included Rio Quattro, the 2015 English Derby champion. A popular figure as well as an exceptional man with a greyhound, he leaves behind him an incredible body of work and wonderful legacy, but more importantly, a loving family and many friends on both sides of the Irish Sea.

We would like to take this opportunity to pass on our sincerest condolences to his family, his wife Eileen and four sons, his extended family and many friends.

May He Rest In Peace.

Funeral details will be released later in the month.

The Racing Post penned an obituary on Danny and it can be read here: https://greyhoundbet.racingpost.com/#news-story/story_id=1256047
