CURRAHEEN PARK GREYHOUND STADIUM TO HOST SPECIAL FUNDRAISING INFORMATION EVENING WITH DAVY RUSSELL

GRI

Curraheen Park Greyhound Stadium will host a special Fundraising Information Evening on Friday, 8th May at 6.30pm, offering local charities, schools, clubs, and community groups a unique opportunity to enhance their fundraising efforts in a simple and effective way.

The event is designed to support organisations looking to raise vital funds while reducing the workload and stress often associated with organising fundraising initiatives.

A key highlight of the evening will be the chance for one attending organisation to win a fully hosted fundraising night at Curraheen Park, aimed at maximising fundraising potential in partnership with the stadium team.

Attendees will also hear practical, proven approaches to fundraising from Olivia Murphy, Regional Sales Manager with Curraheen Park Greyhound Stadium, who will outline how tailored support and structured event planning can help groups achieve stronger results.

Adding to the occasion, special guest Davy Russell will be in attendance. Widely regarded as one of Ireland’s most accomplished jockeys, Russell is a three-time Champion Jockey and a dual winner of the Grand National at Aintree aboard Tiger Roll. His career also includes victories in the Cheltenham Gold Cup and the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris. Known for his engaging personality both on and off the track, Russell’s presence promises to bring added insight and entertainment to the evening.

Guests will be welcomed with refreshments on arrival and invited to stay on to enjoy an evening of racing following the presentation. Representatives from the Irish Retired Greyhound Trust will also be present, accompanied by their popular canine ambassadors, offering attendees the chance to learn more about greyhound welfare and rehoming.

Speaking ahead of the event, Olivia Murphy said, “We are really looking forward to welcoming local groups to Curraheen Park. Fundraising can often feel like a big challenge, but with the right support and approach, it can be straightforward, enjoyable, and very successful. This evening is about sharing that knowledge and giving something back to the community.”

The event is open to charities, schools, sports clubs, and community organisations. Check out www.CurraheenParkGreyhoundStadium.ie to register your interest or find out more.
