BULL CHANGES HANDS AND SET TO BECOME LENNIES

Ian Fortune

One of the most taking runs on Saturday night at Shelbourne Park came from Revolut Bull and he clearly caught the eye of a couple of potential buyers.

The impeccably well-bred son of Ballymac Best and former Derby finalist and Corn Cuchulainn winner Crafty Kokoro displayed fine pace from start to finish to emerge a comfortable winner in 28.21.

As you would expect, there was plenty of interest in Peter Divilly’s youngster and word has come through that he is to join Paul Hennessy after being purchased by a couple of his most notable owners Lee Craze and Ian Cunningham, while the syndicate is completed by a famous name, particularly to those that follow the sky blue of Dublin.

The great James McCarthy, nine-time All-Ireland winner, was something of an athlete on the pitch and he and his fellow owners Lee and Ian will be hoping their new charge can cover the ground as efficiently as McCarthy in his pomp.

Of course, Ian Cunningham was also a talented Gaelic footballer, telling anyone that will listen (only kidding Ian), that he lined out for Westmead for a season.

It is perhaps no surprise that the dog is to be renamed and will carry the Lennies prefix and, while it hasn’t yet been fully confirmed, it also seems likely the dog will also be named after McCarthy. Lennies Jamesmc seems a strong possibility. Watch this space!
