MAREE DOUBLES UP IN BUMBLEBEE KYNE UNRACED

Peter Farrell

Kindly sponsored by Paddy Burke, the opening round heats of the Bumblebee Kyne ON3 525 featured on last night’s Galway card and it was Ronan Hanniffy who stole the show as his litter brothers, Maree Chaser and Maree Magical, both landed their respective heats in good style.

The quickest of the duo came in the opening heat of the night as Maree Chaser justified his starting odds of 1/2 as he won by just shy of sixteen lengths. A July 20’ son of Magical Bale and Confident Petal, who was a talented A1 performer at her best, this contest was over early as Maree Chaser broke smartly from trap one to quickly open a clear advantage. Drawing clear with every stride thereafter, it was a very striking performance from Maree Chaser as he maintained a powerful gallop all the way to the winning line to come home some sixteen lengths clear of Blaze Bill in second. The time was a swift 29.13 .20s.

The litter double was completed in the second heat of the night as Maree Magical also made light work of his rivals to win comprehensively. Heading to traps an even money shot, Maree Magical stepped away lively from trap two and he showed a nice turn of early speed to round the opening corner with daylight. In full control thereafter, Maree Magical maintained a strong gallop all the way to the winning line as he saw off Aulton Super by seven lengths, in a time of 29.26 .20s.

The remaining opening round heat of the Bumblebee Kyne ON3 was landed by Outdoor Rainbow as she finished at a rate of knots to make it a clean sweep for favourites. Owned by Michael Hennessy, Outdoor Rainbow looked in a spot of bother early on as she sat in fourth behind the early leader Glasheen Velvet. However, making steady progress throughout, the daughter of Droopys Sydney and Newline Mo upped the ante from halfway and she produced a late flurry to cross the line two lengths clear of Bumblebee Seamus in second. The time was 29.82 .20s.
