CODY FEELING BETTER AFTER EASTER CUP WITHDRAWAL

CODY FEELING BETTER AFTER EASTER CUP WITHDRAWAL

Ian Fortune

Good Cody was withdrawn from the Bresbet Easter Cup just minutes before he was due to go to traps for the penultimate heat.

Pat Guilfoyle confirmed yesterday that the brilliant tracker “just wasn’t himself” when he took him out of his kennel.

He went on to say, “The vet checked him and found his heartbeat to be slightly irregular and she also checked his temperature which was high. So, the obvious thing to do was to withdraw him from the race. He didn’t eat his dinner when he came home which is not like him. He appears to be good today but will be checked again. It appears he has a bug of some sort. The officials and steward were very helpful and considerate last night and we are very thankful for that.”

Indeed, it’s wonderful to hear that Good Cody is feeling a bit better in himself since the incident and great credit must go to everyone involved for looking after the dog’s welfare.

Pat seems confident the dog will be fine in the very near future and we look forward to seeing the brilliant Irish Sprint Cp and Kingdom Derby champion back on the track in the future.
