As highlighted yesterday on this very page, Chris Walsh was the latest contestant on RTÉ’s Super Garden.
Chris will be known by many involved in greyhound racing. A member of the Newbridge Track Supporters Club and also head of the successful Costalot Syndicate, he is very involved in the sport but is also clearly a very talented garden designer.
In his time as an owner, he has been lucky, owning some very talented greyhounds and winning many, many races. His undoubted star was the Jerry Melia trained Costa Plenti.
During a wonderful career he captured both the Texacloth Juvenile Derby at Newbridge and the Dublin Cup at Shelbourne Park back in 2019. He won over €24,000 in total prizemoney and both Chris and his Costalot Syndicate have reinvested much of it back into the sport, owning many more since Costa Plenti. He continues to be an active owner and deserves all our support in his latest adventure.
In truth, he probably does need our help as the garden his designed speaks for itself. The question was posed at the end of the programme, does the garden have “a wow factor or the wow factor.”
As far as this scribe is concerned, it had THE wow factor and we wish Chris the very best as he bids to earn a place to showcase his design at Bloom. I would highly recommend you watch Chris in action.
