TOWCESTER FOUR-TIMER FOR HENNESSY

    There were eight Irish trained runners on show at Towcester on Sunday afternoon as the Maiden Derby got underway, while the first of the English Derby Trial Stakes took place.

    Paul Hennessy certainly had a day to remember with each of his four runners coming home in front in their respective outings. Lennies Desire was ante-post favourite for the Maiden Derby and duly obliged in Heat 6, coming through to beat long-time leader and former Murt Leahy trained inmate Ballybough Nutz by a length and a half in 29.06.

    Hello Diego had earlier gone faster, winning Heat 2 in a fastest of the round 28.93. Leading from the bend, he would go on to win by almost ten lengths.

    FIRE AND BLUE COMPLETE HENNESSY’S FOURTIMER

    Later on the card, Barefoot On Fire and Boylesports Blue complete the Hennessy four-timer.

    The former led late to win his English Derby Trial Stake in 29.38, while Boylesports Blue went considerably faster, coming home five and a half lengths clear in 28.91. The Graham Holland trained Faypoint Harvey would finish a long way back in third in this contest.

    Graham had four runners on the day with Val Tashadelek qualifying in second in Heat 5 of the Maiden Derby. He was beaten a length and a quarter behind Burrows Charm.

    Bartlemy Mainoo failed to progress in the last of the six heats behind the aforementioned Lennies Desire, finishing almost twelve lengths back in fourth. He also sent out Ardera Sam to finish fourth behind Barefoot On Fire in the Derby Tial Stake.
