On Sunday, Ted Collins will be honoured with a Special Merit Award at the RCÉ/GRI National Greyhound Racing Awards.
Ted has spent a lifetime in the greyhound industry. A rich family history in the sport anchored in his father’s role as one of the founder fathers of track racing in Ireland.
Shelbourne Park has been a huge part of life in the Collins family and Ted himself dedicated a lifetime to the care of greyhounds in Shelbourne Park as a much respected Veterinary Surgeon for many decades. In his student years, Ted also carried out a number of roles to assist the racing team. Ted retired in 2020, but he has many wonderful memories to share.
Ian Fortune sat down with Ian for a wonderful chat for the Shelbourne Park Museum. Ted's story will be shared in the Museum for all the enjoy from this weekend but as well look forward to the weekend we want to give you all the opportunity to have a listen.
We hope you enjoy the memories!
