SUPERSTARS ON SHOW AT CURRAHEEN PARK

Barry Drake

Curraheen Park plays host to a wonderful 12-race tonight featuring finals of the €10,000 to the winner Denis Linehan Solicitors Unraced Stake, the €5,000 to the winner David Fitzgibbon Memorial Juvenile Stake, and the semi-finals of the €5,000 to the winner Shelly Fennelly Memorial Open Bitch Stake.

CALLAWAY KNEGARE, trained by Owen McKenna for the Field Sports Syndicate, is selected to make it three wins from just four career outings in the Denis Linehan Solicitors Unraced Stake Final.

The November youngster clocked a sensational 28.17 on debut and although turned over next time, he made no mistakes last week, returning to top form, in 28.25. Much will depend on the break, but if he gets it right and turns alongside the early pace, he should then prove too strong. Such an exciting young tracker, he will need plenty of beating in this feature final.

Droopys Plunge, trained by Johnny Linehan for owners Roy Ball and Trevor Pearson, was a 28.42 winner debut and he has since run two decent races in defeat. The rails pitch will suit and if in the mix at halfway, he will be powering home and a big run is expected. He's the obvious danger to the selection.

The final of the David Fitzgibbon Memorial is another fantastic contest.

BOCKOS DIAMOND, trained by Graham Holland for the Remember Them Syndicate, has dipped under the magical 28-second barrier the last twice and he's the one to beat. The September youngster has pace everywhere and he's well drawn along the outside of the track.

Broadstrand Syd, trained by Johnny Linehan for the Ryan-Drake-Donovan-Syndicate, will carry plenty of local support and the August puppy will have plenty of support. He has sensational early speed and if getting off the front, which looks likely, then he will take plenty of catching. Both can fight it out.

IN OTHER RACES

Abbeyside Price, in the care of Murt Leahy, can take the opening semi-final in the Shelley Fennelly Memorial. On the draw, the early-paced performer can reverse form with Nathan Moloney's Orchid Queen.

The Pat Kiely-trained Droopys Carbine can send punters home on a high by making every yard of the running in the closing race.
