SOME SMART RUNS IN THE KINGDOM

As people will know, it's impossible to cover every event and while we were busy covering the big competitions at both Curraheen Park and Kilcohan Park last weekend, the semi-finals of the €2,600 to the winner John & Mary Killeacle Dowling Memorial took place at the Kingdom Greyhound Stadium on Friday night and it produced two fine winners on the night.

In the opening semi-final, Moorstown Knight who had caught the eye the previous week impressed when showing real speed throughout to win for Joseph O'Flaherty. The 4-5 favourite set the standard when scoring in 30.63, two and a half lengths clear of Moorstown Brett.

The second heat produced a fantastic finish with In Good Time, trained by Brendan Maunsell for the Working Together Syndicate, just getting the better of Millridge Nadia by the shortest of margins. The 5-2 winner stopped the clock, in 30.75.

It promises to be a great final on Friday night with a wonderful card for the Ballymac Night of Racing which is sponsored by the Dowling family.
