Job Title: Racing Operations Manager
Reports to: Regional Racing Manager / Director of Racing
Primary Location: Kilcohan Park Greyhound Stadium, Waterford
Role Purpose
The Racing Operations Manager will be responsible for the effective management and delivery of all racing operations at Kilcohan Park Greyhound Stadium. This role ensures compliance with racing regulations, welfare standards, and operational excellence while supporting the sales function through coordination of events, fundraisers, and community engagement initiatives.
Racing Operations
- Oversee all aspects of racing operations including race nights, trials, and track maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with Greyhound Racing Ireland (GRI) rules, regulations, and welfare standards.
- Manage racing administration including taking race entries and trial bookings.
- Supervise racing office, race night and track staff, ensuring high standards inline with standard operating procedures at all times.
- Maintain and oversee track equipment, kennels, and related racing hardware.
- Liaise professionally with owners, trainers, and stakeholders during trials and race nights.
- Note: This role does not require grading of race cards.
Event Coordination & Community Engagement
- Collaborate with the Sales and Hospitality teams to support fundraising events and community engagement activities.
- Assist in planning and promoting racing and non-race day events to enhance stadium profile.
- Coordinate operational requirements for events ensuring smooth delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Represent Kilcohan Park in local community initiatives to strengthen relationships and brand presence.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure adherence to statutory regulations including Health & Safety and Fire Safety.
- Maintain company standard operating procedures across all racing operations.
- Monitor and uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards in all racing-related areas.
People Management
- Train, coach, and develop racing and track staff.
- Promote a positive team environment and effective communication across departments.
Other Duties
- Support the Regional Racing Manager and Director of Racing on projects as required.
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks to meet business needs.
- Strong knowledge of greyhound racing operations and regulations.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and engage with community stakeholders.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
Hours of Work
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, 5 days from 7 (including evenings and weekends).
