Rásaíocht Con Éireann (RCÉ) convened this morning to review the recent warm weather conditions and the anticipated impact on racing and trial schedules nationwide.
Following consideration of the latest Met Éireann forecasts, RCÉ is pleased to confirm that all racing activity across all stadia has been authorised to return to normal operations from 9:00am tomorrow, Saturday, 27th June.
Any further decisions regarding racing will be made locally by racing officials, taking into account regional weather updates and conditions.
In line with RCÉ protocols, water baths will be available at all locations, and greyhound owners and trainers are asked to refer to the guidance document “Caring for Greyhounds in Warm Weather” to ensure the continued welfare of their animals, a copy of which can be found here.
RCÉ would like to thank all stakeholders for their cooperation throughout this recent weather event.
RCÉ will continue to prioritise the safety and welfare of greyhounds and will issue further updates as appropriate.
