NO STOPPING BALLYMAC RUN IN SHELLEY FENNELLY MEMORIAL OPEN BITCH STAKE DECIDER

BALLYMAC RUN (Bull Run Bolt-Jaytee Pearl) put on a superb performance to win the €5,000 to the winner Shelley Fennelly Memorial Open Bitch Stake at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.

Owned and trained by Liam Dowling, the daughter of Bull Run Bolt and Jaytee Pearl was winning the feature event for the second consecutive year. The in-form lady was making it back-to-back wins with another big display, clocking 28.50.

Just getting around the opening bend in front, she pulled away on the back straight and she stayed on strongly to beat Footfield Violet, by four and a half lengths. A super consistent lady for the Dowling's over the last couple of years and another big race success in Cork.

WONDERFUL LYNCH TREBLE

Local trainer Kieran Lynch enjoyed a great night. The €3,750 to the winner Michael Galvin Memorial A3 Tri Distance was won by Buterrbridgejohn, who Lynch trained for his dad, Diarmuid Lynch, and Ger Gubbins. Bouncing out in front and making all the running, the 3-1 winner made it a Lynch treble and in the process, clocking a fine 31.27. Three and a half lengths back to Arcade Izzy in second place.

Lynch had earlier took the second with Standing Charge. Overcoming the wide draw to lead, the 2-1 shot displayed plenty of all-round speed to beat Ballycowen Jay, by a neck, in 28.76, winning for Patrick Murphy.

The second of the Lynch-trained winners was Parchments Shark, as the even-money favourite proved a class apart in the S2 330. Owned by Dermot Lehane, the July youngster won with plenty to spare, posting an impressive, 17.59.

THER STANDOUT PERFORMANCES

Burgess Jack put on another magnificent display when landing the Open Sprint with plenty to spare. In the care of Sarah Shannon, Fermoy, the 4-5  favourite in a very fast, 17.46.

Racing concluded with a superb display from the improving Ballycowen Conor. The July youngster was following up on a recent A2 victory when landing this Open Class event. Clocking a sizzling 3.23 sectional from the outside of the track to lead, the 5-1 shot was always doing enough up front. Trained by Dean Harpur for Debbie Doyle, the classy performer clocked 28.36, three and a half lengths clear of Peroni Eoiny.
