MORE NOTABLE SHELBUORNE DEBUTS

Ian Fortune

Fresh from our appeal on the best and fastest debuts at Shelbourne Park, Turlough Heeney and Robbie Donnelly were quick off the mark to remind us of Kilara Inferno.

The son of Ballymac Bolger and Kilara Jessie looked a real star in the making only last month at the famous Ringsend venue, winning his first start in a sizzling 28.12.

In the subsequent days, he was been purchased by Nic and Amanda Jeal and has since been renamed Hopes Romeo. The September ’22 whelp hasn’t been seen since but it seems only a matter of time before he continues to make waves.

BOY AND TED BEGAN WITH A BANG

Going back a couple of years a couple more that were thrown our direction by Lars Wincander were Explosive Boy and All About Ted.

Both would go on to have wonderful careers and the clues were there from the very start.

Explosive Boy flew around Shelbourne on debut in 28.32, He would go on to be a real superstar, capturing a Produce Stakes, Race of Champions, Select Stakes and Dundalk International as well as reaching the final of a Kirby Memorial and Derby.

All About Ted actually contested the 2021 Derby decider alongside Explosive Boy and he too began his career in brilliant fashion. Just a fortnight before Explosive Boy flew around on debut, All About Ted introduced himself to the world with a brilliant 28.31 return in late October 2020.
