MILLRIDGE SUCCESS IN THE KINGDOM FEATURE

Barry Drake

MILLRIDGE BRYCE ran out a brilliant winner of the feature in the Kingdom on Friday night, the €2,775 to the winner John & Mary Killeacle Dowling Memorial A1 570.

Donal O'Mahony's 2-1 winner, an ultra-consistent sort, produced a great start along the inside of the track, however, it was another Millridge runner who slipped around in front as Lily displayed stunning early speed.

Favourite Disco Pants, a star of the event in recent weeks, lost all chance after stumbling leaving traps. The writing was on the wall going down the back straight, Millridge Byrce has huge finishing speed and he pulled away for a comfortable victory. A 30.93 winning run, a length and a half clear of Saleen Pearl, with a half a length back to Millridge Lily back in third.

Following Millridge Bryce's win in the final of the John & Mary Killeacle Dowling Memorial Final, Angela Dowling making the winning presentation of the perpetual cup to Ryan Daniel O'Mahony & Declan Dowling presenting to Donal G.O'Mahony, with members of the Dowling family.

BACK TO BACK VICTORIES

In the €1,000 to the winner Ballymac Kingdom @ Stud Novice 750, it was Honest Endeavor who justified short price favoritism for trainer Jack Foley and owners The O'Neill McElligott Foley Syndicate. The 4-7 favourite was in front early and he recorded back-to-back victories in great style. Four lengths back in second was Gortroe, in 42.13.

FINISHED WITH A FLOURISH

Homestead Blonde finished with a flourish to win the €1,000 to the winner final of the Ballymac Bolger @ Stud Stakes A1 stake. A 10-1 outsider in the ring, the Dan Lynch-owned and trained runner was out the back early and he produced a fabulous finish to come from last to first. A 28.98 winning run, two and a half lengths back to Lassinagh Dream.
