JOHN GRAHAM, COOKSTOWN, CO. TYRONE

It is with deep regret that we learn of the passing of John Graham, Cookstown, Co. Tyrone.

Fondly known as the “Wee Scotsman,” John moved to Ireland in 1977 and went on to make a lasting contribution within greyhound circles throughout the country. Over the course of his career, many top-class dogs passed through his hands, and he trained hundreds of winners, earning the huge respect and admiration of his peers.

Among his most prolific winners was the track star Killetra Pass, who recorded no fewer than seventeen victories for the McCuster/Graham partnership in the early 1980s. John passed away at the grand age of 92.

John was predeceased by his beloved wife, Theresa, and by his children Kathleen, Margaret, Harry, Bernard, Elizabeth, and Mary. He was a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather. His son Bernard remains very much involved with the dogs, proudly continuing the family’s long association with the sport.

Funeral arrangements take place today, Sunday 4th January.

May the sod rest gently upon him.
