HAT-TRICK FOR BONO IN TIME DECIDER AT GALWAY

There was a €1,200 winner’s prize on offer in the ‘Join The TIME Club A3/A4 525’ at Galway on Friday night and it was snapped up by Derrymoyle Bono, who delivered a front-running masterclass to claim the honours in style.

Trained by Owen McDonagh for owner Michael McDonagh, Derrymoyle Bono arrived in top form, having notched back-to-back victories in the same competition. Sent off at 3/1, the son of Broadstrand Bono and Brickhill Sharon wasted no time asserting his authority. Breaking smartly from trap two, he clocked a sharp 3.32 sectional to establish a two-length lead by the opening bend. Lilys Beauty gave chase and quickly drew clear of the remainder at halfway, but she was unable to make any real impression on the relentless pace set by Derrymoyle Bono. Showing no signs of weakening, the winner powered up the hill to stretch his advantage to four and a half lengths at the line.
