GENTLE GIANT REMEMBERED AT MULLINGAR

Pat Curtin was one of the true characters of greyhound racing and the gentle giant will be remembered at Mullingar this evening as the stake named in his honour, the Pat Curtin Memorial Cup, gets underway.

A total of ten heats will make up the majority of tonight’s card and it seems safe to expect a few to improve considerably on previous form. With a winner’s purse of €3,500 on offer, there are a number of promising youngsters on show and those looking for winners are perhaps best to follow the more inexperienced runners.

Obviously, picking out ten heat winners is not possible but a couple that catch the eye include Droopys Myra in the opening heat, Woolly Wellies in Heat 7, Killeshil Magic in Heat 9 and Dapper Ronnie in the final heat.
