FR MAURICE BRICK DONATES WINNING PRIZE MONEY OF €2,700 TO CASTLEISLAND DAY CARE CENTRE

Following the brilliant success of Ballymac Luckily in the final of the €2,700 to the winner Pestana @ Stud & Droopys Kennels Hospital Stakes, winning owner, Fr Maurice Brick announced in an interview with Declan Dowling after the race that he would be donating the winnings of the event to the Castleisland Day Care Centre - what a wonderful gesture.

BALLYMAC LUCKILY, trained by Liam Dowling for Fr. Maurice Brick, landed the feature in the Kingdom on Friday night as the December puppy delivered a powerful performance in the final of the €2,700 Pestana @ Stud & Droopys Kennels Hospital Stakes. 

Sent off at a very generous 9-2, the winner made a very good start, but it was Tokenfire Blaze who took them along early. Setting sizzling early fractions, Ballymac Luckily was always within touching distance. Just before halfway, the lead was two lengths, but that was soon three. However, the winner was that bit stronger in the closing stages, putting on a determined effort, the bright prospect kept on best to score. At the line, Ballymac Luckily was three-quarters of a length clear of the fast-finishing Cashen Tatyana, in 28.69. A length back to the early leader Tokenfire Blaze who finished third.
