BLACKSTONE COLA (Dromana Bucko-Blackstone Lacey) came out on top in the final of the €5,000 to the winner Deise Plastering Novice 730-stake at Kilcohan Park on Saturday night.

Trained by David Flanagan for owner Matthew Derrick, the May puppy was making it three straight wins when winning the feature contest on the night.

Sent off the 5-2 second choice of the punters, just like previous wins, the exciting prospect was out the back early on. Grouchos Cossie was setting the fractions up front, with Lennies Desire always in a prominent position in behind.

The winner had bundles of speed late on, and she's a hugely exciting stayer going forward. Powering home and doing her best running late on, she flew up the home straight to beat Lennies Desire, by two lengths, in 40.71. Three-quarters of a length back to Grouchos Cossie in third place.

It was a good night all round for trainer David Flanagan, he took the second semi-final of the Upcoming Events @ Kilcohan Park ON2/0N3 Stake with Canya Wait (Grangeview Ten-Cresent Tibet) as the September puppy won easily, in 28.84, at odds of 4-5. Impressive in the opening round, it was once again all one way traffic up front. Another wide-margin winning run for this classy lady.

In the closing race on the card, an A4, Coolside King (Ballymac Cashout-Coolside Spy) went quickest on the clock when posting 28.65. In the care of Seamus O'Neill, the May puppy was in front early, and he displayed huge pace throughout to win easily. The 2-1 shot is now three wins from just seven career outings.
