As the Munster Christmas Cup draws near at Clonmel Greyhound Stadium, and with the ‘Village’ Kennels coming on board as this year’s sponsor, owners and trainers are being urged to submit entries early.
The competition, previously won by standout performers such as Faypoint Harvey and Im An Exile, carries a top-class winner’s prize of €6,000 and a trophy this year. It remains one of the most competitive fixtures on the calendar, and the 2025 renewal comes with several added incentives for participants.
As ever, the National Produce Stakes is Clonmel’s flagship event, and a valuable bonus is on offer for any greyhound completing a rare double. Should the winner of the forthcoming Munster Christmas Cup go on to claim the 2026 Produce Stakes, they will earn an additional €3,000 bonus. The connections of the last remaining bitch in the competition will also receive €500, provided at least six bitches take their place in the opening-round draw.
With these rewards in mind, connections with a suitable AO/A1 contender may find this year’s Christmas Cup an opportunity well worth pursuing.
