Ballymac Duffle and Ballymac Deniro top the betting with sponsors Star Sports ahead of Saturday’s English Greyhound Derby final.

The kennel companions have both built a huge fan base over the past weeks and are deserving of their lofty position in the betting.

The Liam Dowling trained duo share favouritism at 2-1 with the third of Dowling’s runners Ballymac Ralf joint third favourite alongside Hackney Corner at 9-2. Lennies Eddie, who is Paul Hennessy’s sole representative following the disappointing news that Lennies Tank has been withdrawn, is the outsider of the field at 8-1.

The fact that none of the five remaining runners are double figure odds highlights the open nature of the contest.
