DROOPYS PATRIOT A MAGNIFICENT WINNER OF THE JUVENILE CLASSIC

    DROOPYS PATRIOT (Dorotas Wildcat-Droopys Alyssa) ran out a magnificent winner of the €11,000 to the winner T Nolan C.V.R.T Centre Juvenile Classic at the Kingdom Greyhound Stadium on Friday night.

    Trained by Robert Gleeson for the Newmarket Racing Syndicate, the 9-4 shot delivered a career best performance in the feature final.

    The August puppy showed improved form throughout the event and this was an outstanding winning run. Displaying plenty of early pace to slip around in front, the exciting young tracker made the most of the rails pitch. In control heading down the back, the impressive winner was flying along up front. Ballinabola Joe didn’t enjoy the clearest of runs and was showing massive speed in behind. Droopys Patriot was staying on well up front and he clocked a top class 28.21, a length of a half clear of Ballinabola Joe. Two lengths back to Flashing Fender in third place.

    BUCKETS OF SPEED

    In the Open Sprint, Earn Perks, for Thomas and Johnny Regan, the 11-4 shot delivered a superb performance to beat Road Exile.

    Showing buckets of speed up front, it was a stunning 17.20 victory, a length clear of Road Exile.

    CAREER BEST

    In the Mossie Leane Memorial Race, it was Highway Winx who popped out in front to make all the running.

    The Ray Fleming trained runner put on a career best to land the spoils, second for most of the journey, the 7-2 winner pulled out all the stops to beat Sogna In Grande, by two lengths, in 28.48. (A0).

    BACK TO BACK WINS

    The €1,300 to the winner Good Cody @ Stud Stakes A1 Final went the way of Starson Katie for Colm and Pat O’Connell.

    A 10-3 winner in the betting market, the inform tracker was making in back to back wins with another powerful winning run. On too late on, the classy performer beat Ballyard Kelso, by a length and a half, in 28.56.

    RETURNED TO TOP FORM

    In the Pat Ahern AA0 570 Memorial Race, Ballymac Marcia impressed when winning for Liam Dowling.

    The 9-2 winner returned to top form with a strong all round display. A convincing winning effort, clocking 30.84, three and a half lengths clear of Labana Cody.
