DOLORES WITH A PERFECT HAT TRICK IN BALLYHIMIKIN JET STAKE

Ian Fortune

Dolores Ruth had a tremendous night at Shelbourne Park on Thursday, sending out all three winners in the semi-finals of the €2,250 Ballyhimikin Jet @ Stud ON2 525. Remarkably, she won’t actually have any runner in the final as all three went ‘too fast’ but the future looks bright for the trio.

MYWAY DID IT HER WAY

Razldazl Myway set the pace in the last of the three heats.

The well bred son of Explosive Boy and Razldazl Mya broke fastest form the inside trap and proceeded to make every inch for a nine length success over Highview Might. Whirling Wind was just a half lengths further adrift, eventually qualifying in third with the winner excluded after breaking the 28.70 barrier.

KAMARIA WINS IN STYLE

The same fate befell Razldazl Kamaria in the second heat.

A daughter of Ballymac Best and Boylesportstwink, the February ’23 whelp chased Highview Yeats into the corner before asserting early in the back straight. From that point, she quickened on to see off the early leader by five lengths in 28.57. Catunda Romeo will line out in the final after finishing a length and a half further back in third.

BENETTI STRIKES

Michael Delaney’s Razldazl Benetti displayed a willing attitude to win the opening heat, initiating the Dolores Ruth hat trick. The youngster turned second before charging past the pace-setting Catunda Maura into the third turn.

Onde doing so, the son of Ballyhimikin Jet and Razldazl Lulu eased on to beat Bockos Jackson by four lengths in 28.60. Catunda Maura was third, progressing to the final.

JANE GOES FASTEST IN TIME A2

The opening round of the Time Greyhound Nutrition A2 525 was also part of the card and Ginger Jane opened her account at the fifth time of asking to set the standard with a 28.50 return in the last of the three heats.

A well bred daughter of Malachi and Love Island, making her a half-sister to Kirby Memorial champion Knockeen Dazzler, she would dictate from the outset. Drawn in the stripes, Ginger Jane broke fastest, just clearing the turn before racing right away from her rivals from halfway.

Mirage Majesty was second rom the outset but had little answer to Ginger Jane. Morning Bucks was another two lengths away in third. Mustang Marydel also progressed in fourth.

FIFI FLIES TO IMPRESS

Barry Clancy’s Innfield Fifi made an impression in the opening heat, charging home to lead in the dying strides. The lead swapped hands three times before the third turn with Tinnock Shen going up fastest before Graigues Downey took over into the back straight.

His lead was short-lived as Killeshil Messi flew into the third turn to take over. All the while, Innfield Jet was getting closer and closer before pouncing on the run in. Coming between KIilleshil Messi and Graigues Downey, the daughter of Ballyhimkin Jet and Jaytee Sahara flew home to win by a length from Killeshil Messi in 28.76. Graigues Downey was only a short head further back in third. Thru The Roof also progressed.

EILE SEES OF COCO

Annual Eile and Rossa Coco had a great battle in the sixth race with the former coming out on top for John and Donal Wilson. The Robert Gleeson trained daughter of Broadstrand Bono and Annual Coco led early but was joined down the back straight by Rossa Coco.

The pair had a great set to into the third turn but Annual Eile was top prove too strong on the run in, rallying to see off Rossa Coco by a length in 28.82. Listen Here Ok was best of the remainder, another length adrift. Orchid Icon was the fourth qualifier.

BIG RUN FROM LORD

Glory Lord went fast in the opener, saying goodbye to A5 company in some style.

Turning in front, Sheila Duncan and James Kirby’s son of Droopys Sydney and Glory Lady raced on to a facile five length victory over Whos The Goat in a rapid 28.33.
