DEPLOY AND SLICK SET FOR THE UK

Ian Fortune

Robert Gleeson confirmed during the week that his BOYLE Sports Derby finalist Droopys Deploy has been sold and is to join Jason Heath. The powerful son of Malachi and Droopys Charm was due to travel on Wednesday morning and seems certain to win a hatful of races for his new connections in the UK.

Of course, aside from his Derby final appearance, he also reached the final of the Kirby Memorial at Limerick as well as the semi-finals of the St Leger at the same venue. With huge pace and real strength, he could be really suited by Hove – Jason Heath’s home track. We wish him the best of luck in the future and hope to see him contesting in Grade 1 company again.

SLICK ALSO MOVES ON

Incidentally, it comes after a few weeks after Gleeson reported that Droopys Slick has also been sold to the UK.

A talented youngster, it took him some time to open his account, mainly due to the fact that he was running in red-hot company, but he put that right in his last two starts on Irish soil in the Shelbourne AAO 525 vs Shelbourne Maidens Shootout.

Impressing in the semis in 28.57, he went considerably faster to land the €2,000 prize with a 28.12 return. That was quite a way to sign off before joining Rob Short in Swindon. He has already been renamed Castell Hawk but has yet to make his UK debut.
