DANZIG REBEL DIGS DEEP TO WIN THE CURRAHEEN PARK FEATURE

DANZIG REBEL (Ballymac Cashout-Livz Dream), trained by James Kelleher for owners the Castlegrounds-Syndicate, came home in front to win the €1,500 to the winner Jack, Mary & Brian Finn Memorial ON2/ON3 Unraced Stake at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.

Turning third around the opening corners, the 4-1 winner was always within touching distance. Favourite Peronys Zero was going along nicely up front with Fastnet Love also in the mix. A May youngster, Danzig Rebel was strongest from halfway and the pacey performer pulled out all the stops in the closing stages to land the spoils. A 28.97 winning run, a neck clear of Peronys Zero.

POWERED HOME
In the semi-finals of the Jacktavern Gem @ Stud A2/A3 Bitch Stake, trainer Paul Hennessy had a 1-2 in the opening heat. Youandme Babe winning for owner Paul Hynes. The 7-4 joint favourite was near last midway down the back straight, but the powerful running tracker powered home to score. A 28.84 winning run, a length and a half clear of Lilac Tree, with a head back to Droopys Workout in third.

BACK TO BACK WINS
Lads Jasmine completed back-to-back wins in the second heat for the in-form kennel of Mary Mackey. The 3-1 winner took over from Batty Nora at the second last corner and she finished well to beat the running on Barefoot Amber, by three-quarters of a length, in 28.87.

ELSEWHERE
Elsewhere, Valleys Angel delivered a stunning 28.30 winning performance in the opener. Trained by Pat Kiely for the Thirteen Hurlers On The Ditch Syndicate, the 2-1 recorded back-to-back wins in the A1 contest.
Up five grades for a recent success, Haughty Penny impressed when winning race eight, an A0, in 8.61, for Frank Clune and Mae O'Brien, at 3-1.
In the following race, Orchid Legacy produced a really strong finish to win for trainer Patrick Barrett and owner Michael Clark. Following up on a recent win around Clonmel, the 3-1 winner stopped the clock, in 28.36.
It was a Pet Kiely success after the 29.00 winning run of Da Dapper Flynn in the tenth. Owned by the Golden Spoon Syndicate, the 7-4 shot stayed on strongly to win.
In the following race, Ballycowen Conor returned to winning form for Dean Harpur. The Debbie Doyle-owned runner just got the better of recent Laurels finalist Seek The Kingdom, by a head, in 28.74, at odds of 7-2.
In the closing race, Clonmore Alice was a fine winner for Breda and Cian Moloney. No stranger to big performances around course and distance, the 3-1 winner put on a superb front-running winning performance to win in 28.79.
