Following the announcement by government on Friday last, RCÉ is making arrangements to recommence activities at greyhound tracks on a phased basis as directed by government.

At this point the arrangements from 7th June have been set-out by government with arrangements for 5th July being subject to the ‘prevailing health situation’ at that time.  It is intended that the relaxation of restrictions will continue, again subject to public health considerations, from August 2021 onwards.

RCÉ is making arrangements to give effect to the proposals outlined by government that come into effect from 7th June next.  From that date the following will apply at all RCÉ licenced venues:

  • - A maximum 100 attendees will be permitted outdoors at all venues.

  • - Pre-booking of all attendance at RCÉ tracks will be required.  Patrons can pre-book online at or by calling our reservations office on 061 448080. The attendance fee of €10 will continue to be apply with a reduced rate of €5 for OAP etc.

  • - General Admission Tickets will be available to purchase from Friday 4th June.

  • - The ground floor of all stadia and restaurant facilities will remain closed.

  • - A reduced food and beverage offering will be available on a takeaway basis with some outdoor seating introduced where practical.

  • - Access to the stadium buildings will be permitted for access to the toilets and for the purchase of food and beverages.

  • - The wearing of face masks will continue to be required while on the premises.

  • - Tote and wagering activities will be reintroduced on a phased basis from 7th June 2021.

  • - Sales events will continue to be subject to restricted attendance in respect of each sales venue

RCÉ will continue to implement all relevant protocols to safeguard public health.  In that regard the implementation of social distancing requirements and the prevention of congregating in groups will continue to be monitored by RCÉ staff.

RCÉ would like to thank all involved in the level of co-operation that has been evident to date in what have been quite difficult circumstances.  The co-operation of the greyhound community in this phased re-opening is again sought.

We will continue to advise on an ongoing basis of the changes to arrangements as they arise on foot of government guidelines and directives.
