With yesterday’s welcome news that the 2021 Con & Annie Kirby Memorial 525 is very much on track at Limerick greyhound stadium, details for the upcoming trial stakes are now available.

The trial stakes are an excellent incentive to the main event and with additional prize-money on offer for one-off races such as this, there is sure to be plenty of interest from greyhound owners and trainers up and down the Country. Indeed, the last running of the Con & Annie Kirby Memorial in 2019 saw Deadly Storm pickup one of the Limerick Trial Stakes in late February and if you fast forward eight weeks later, he was contesting the final of the €80,000 showpiece at Dock Road.

For 6 greyhounds @ €15 each that are whelped on or after 1st January 2019

Winner: €325 plus free entry to the ‘Con & Annie Kirby Memorial 525’ @ Limerick Greyhound Stadium which is set to commence on Saturday, 27th March.

*** Trial Stakes to be run at Irish Greyhound Stadiums nationwide, with additional trial stakes penciled in for Limerick  ***

Limerick Trial Stake dates for the diary

Saturday 13th March – ON1/ON2 525

(Confined to Jan 2019 whelps or younger)

If the winner of any Trial Stake is unavailable to compete in the main competition, the next placed available greyhound(s) will be invited to compete in the stake.

In the event of the unavailability of a stadium Trial Stake entrant, this entry will be replaced by a greyhound from the open general entries. Reserves will be eligible for the preliminary round.

Details on trial stakes to commence at other greyhound stadiums will be available by contacting the racing office of the requested track.

Trial stakes must be run by Sunday 21st March
