Bockos Diamond remains at the head of the betting for the Boylesports Irish Greyhound Derby after his stunning Friday night success but sponsors Boylesports have not been afraid to shuffle the pack after the opening round.
Bombay Pat and March On Freddie were both hugely impressive and the pair are now clear joint second favourites to land the €125,000 prize on November 23rd. Bockos Diamond was flawless, posting 29.23 in his opening round assignment and is now just 4-1 with Boylesports to come out on top, while Bombay Pat and March On Freddie share second favouritism at 8-1.
Boylesports Bob had no right to clock 29.25 in his opening round heat when coming from off the pace to lead late and they sponsors have reacted with the Paul Hennessy trained English Derby runner-up now just 10-1.
Calaway Knegare suffered his second defeat in a row and has been pushed out to 14-1, while De Lahdedah suffered a similar fate. The English Derby champion is now available at 14-1.
Cheap Sandwiches ran a big race in defeat on Saturday and is the only other greyhounds at odds of less than 20-1 at 16-1. Carrick Aldo comes next at 20-1 after his supreme opening round display with Seven Beach, Da Bold Falcon, Untold Dollar, Knockeen Dazzler, Tarsna Maasai, Ballymac Danica and Tribal Syd at 25-1.
