BOLT FAVOURITE TO WIN €10,000 TIME SELECT STAKES AT KILCOHAN PARK

The €10,000 TIME Greyhound Nutrition Select Stakes final takes centre stage at Kilcohan Park this Saturday with Jacktavern Bolt the favourite to be crowned the champion.
Trained by Graham Holland for the Pillar syndicate, this son of Pestana – Newinn Madam was a terrific winner of the opening semi-final as he clocked a fast 28.28 over the 525 yards from trap three. A finalist in last year’s Irish Laurels, this speedster is the 6/4 favourite with the bookmakers and will don the white jacket again.
Trinity Junior was only a length behind Jacktavern Bolt and this Champion Stakes winner has to be taken seriously from trap one with 3/1 a decent price. Trained by Peter Cronin, Trinity Junior hasn’t been seen since the Winter Racing Festival on December 2nd and now that he has two runs under his belt there might be more to come from him. Ballymac Finn was another short head back in third for trainer Liam Dowling and will race from trap four in the final.
Droopys Fidget won the second semi-final in a blistering time of 28.23 for trainer Robert Gleeson and owners Paul Allen and John Gilson. This recent Easter Cup finalist was quick away from traps and is now unbeaten in this competition as he clocked 28.36 in the opening round.
Only four dogs went to traps with Droopys Zelda qualifying in second place for trainer John A. Linehan while Jerry Melia’s A Lucky Julie grabbed third place.
