BLAKE HEADS THE SPONSOR’S ENGLISH DERBY BETTING

Incidentally, ahead of the English Derby draw on Thursday, sponsors StarSports have Part Blake as their clear favourite for outright success at 14-1.

One suspects this is due partly to liabilities with the brilliant son of Laughil Blake coming in for strong support in recent weeks. He is one of twelve Irish trained greyhounds in the top seventeen (up to 33-1) in the market.

Others fancied in the outright betting include Coolavanny Calvn and Singalong Sally who are both on the 20-1 mark. There’s a trio of Irish trained runners on 25-1. They are Cushie Concorde, Kildare and Wide Open. 

Balinabola Ed is a 28-1 chance in the outright market, while Bobsleigh Dream, Cape Cloud, Deadly Showtime, Knight Tornado and Russian Glory are all available at 33-1.

Of the UK based runners, defending champion Thorn Falcon is seen as the greatest threat to the Irish at 16-1. Bubbly Apache and Signet Ace are both available at 25-1.
