GRI

The Bernard Barry Christmas Oaks, sponsored by Shelbourne Park bookmaker Bernard Barry, is set to return this festive season, with racing taking place from 6th December and the Final on Saturday, 27th December.

Now firmly established as one of the most prestigious Oaks events on the racing calendar, the competition boasts a top prize of €15,000 for the winner. Last year’s champion of this increasingly celebrated event, Silverhill Freya, was one of the standout stars of 2025. It is anticipated that this year’s final will once again provide a thrilling finale to the racing year.

As part of Bernard Barry’s continued partnership with Shelbourne Park, two additional competitions will also feature:

***The Bernard Barry Shelbourne Regulars A3/A4 525, for 24 greyhounds with a winner’s prize of €2,500

***The Bernard Barry AA0 525, featuring 12 greyhounds and offering a winner’s prize of €5,000

Michael Dempsey, Leinster Racing Manager, commented, “We are delighted to once again welcome Bernard Barry as sponsor of the Christmas Oaks. Bernard’s long-standing support of racing at Shelbourne Park has helped elevate this event into one of the most prestigious Oaks on the calendar. With outstanding prize money on offer and a superb programme of finals on December 27th, it promises to be a fantastic night of racing for owners, trainers and supporters alike. We would like to sincerely thank Bernard for his continued commitment to greyhound racing.”
