MCCRACKEN is one of the quickest applying his trade around Youghal track and the well-backed 5-4 delivered another spectacular performance when clocking a best of the night, 28.76 at Youghal track on Monday night.
In front before the opening corner, the brilliant son of Confident Rankin and Jalingo showed massive pace throughout and our nap selection made it six wins from just nine career outings. Coolbeg Whitical was always within touching distance, but the impressive winner scored by a length and a half.
IN OTHER RACES
Curragh Sonic made it back-to-back wins in the ninth, an A2, for Michael O'Keeffe, Midelton.
Nip and tuck with Ballyhimkin Joy early on, he just got the better of that argument between the final corners and he had enough in the tank to fend off Ronnies Flyer, in 29.16, at odds of 3-1. Half a length the difference.
Ashville Bucko made the most of the drop-in class to win race eight. Just making the corner in front, the 6-4 market leader pulled clear on the back straight and increased that lead late on. Owned by Ger Geary, Youghal, it was a wide margin success, in 29.49.
Witches Elwood was a runaway winner of the fifth, an A3, for the kennel of Anne Twomey, Lisgoold. The 6-1 outsider maintained a strong pace throughout as she came home with plenty to spare, in 29.24.
Modern Bluffer, trained by John Quinn for the First-Step-Syndicate, put on a powerful performance to win the 11th, an A3, in 29.22, at odds of 9-2.
