Arrowhead is without doubt one of the most in-form trackers in the Country at present and Kevin Ryan-owned son of Pat C Sabbath and Krystalise secured a brilliant five-timer last night at Galway Greyhound Stadium.
Trained by Stephen Murray, who is no stranger at churning out the winners at both Galway and Limerick, Arrowhead came into last night’s 550-yard contest fresh off four terrific wins where he clocked the likes of 28.80 for the standard trip and 30.04 for the 550-yards. As a result, he was installed the even money favourite to extend his unbeaten streak and he was to produce another polished performance in landing the top race on the night at the Connacht venue. Running from trap five, Arrowhead was once again paw-perfect at traprise as he pinged the lids to show tremendous early pace and take a three length lead around the opener from Cloonturk Bruno in second. Clearly a greyhound full of confidence at present, Arrowhead continued to set a fierce gallop down the back and it became evident that Cloonturk Bruno was to be the only factor which could prevent the five in a row. The latter made progress around the bottom two turns, however, Arrowhead kicked out once more when they straightened up for home and he showed fine determination to hold off Cloonturk Bruno by one and a half lengths crossing the line. Another superb effort from this July whelp, the time was a career-best 30.14 .20s and Arrowhead will bid for his half-dozen next time out for connections.
