Even before Friday’s racing action got underway at Kilkenny, there was plenty to get excited about on the track with Sean Malone’s Sober Glory posting a scarcely believable 28.37 in a trial.
To highlight just how good a run that is, the track record, which is held by Priceless Brandy, stands at 28.46.
For the record, he posted 4.33 to the winning line first time up, while his third bend clock was a rapid 16.64. The Karol Ramsbottom trained Sober Glory was last seen on Derby final night when seeing off a top class field in a supporting Open 550. He is clearly in good heart at present and we look forward to seeing him back on the track in the near future.
