There was certainly exciting action on offer at Kilkenny on Friday night as the TIME Greyhound Nutrition A3 525 continued.
There were a couple of remarkably tight finishes, while honour of going fastest went to Killinure King.
KING RULES
The Thomas Buggy trained son of Ballymac Best posted a fast 4.25 sectional to dictate into the turn and he was never threatened thereafter.
In fact, his nearest rival at the finish was kennel companion Kilgraney Gold, who ran on well to finish just two lengths adrift. Killinure King emerged a comfortable two length winner in 29.08.
SHANE TOO STRONG
Russmur Shane emerged a good winner for Stephen Dunne in the final heat.
Off the pace into the turn, he avoided opening bend traffic to move second before taking charge around the last two bends. He stayed on strongly to see off Freedom Reader by five and a half lengths in 29.13.
WHAT A FINISH
There was a remarkable finish to the opening heat with Goingtherightway and Foyle Amy sharing the honours with Long Cascade just a short head away third.
The latter actually led for much of the way but he couldn’t contain the advancing duo of Foyle Amy and Goingtherightway.
Foyle Amy came from well off the pace to challenge, while Goingtherightway was always close enough to look a threat. All three flashed past the post locked in battle with the judge declaring that Goingtherightway and Foyle Amy dead-heated in 29.18.
PLAYBOY LEADS LATE
There was also a tight finish to heat 3.
Rory Hickey’s Avongate Playboy reeling in Radioactive Boy to win by a short head in 29.22.
