Rásaíocht Con Éireann is pleased to announce to Industry Stakeholders that pursuant to Section 5 of the Greyhound Racing Act, S.I. No. 15 of 2019, draft regulations relating to the detection of prohibited substances in greyhounds are now available to view.
These Regulations amend the Greyhound Racing (Prohibited Substances) Regulations 2023 (S.I. No. 212 of 2023) by amending the definition of prohibited substance and by inserting definitions of medicinal product and screening limit, to provide for particular restrictions on the substances which can lawfully be detected in greyhounds whilst in training, participating in racing or trials, or entered in sales, or in greyhounds intended for such purposes, and the permitted level, if any, of such substances, and by inserting additional classes of substances in Part 1 of the Schedule.
In compliance with Section 5 of the Greyhound Racing Act, S.I. No. 15 of 2019, submissions from the public may be made, by email in respect of these draft regulations by sending to prohibitedsubstances@grireland.ie

The public consultation period for submissions to be received in respect of the above draft regulations is open for one month. All submissions should be received on or before November 20th 2023.
