FAROUT SYDNEY DELIVERS A SPECIAL PERFORMANCE IN YOUGHAL

Barry Drake

FAROUT SYDNEY, trained by Eddie Lingane for the Decs-Syndicate, Fermoy, delivered a special performance in Wednesday's seventh race at Youghal track, clocking 28.66, one of the quickest performances in recent years.

Fancy Tulip exploded from traps but Farout Sydney turned on terms and from there, he was always going to take the world of beating. It was nip and tuck throughout, but half way up the home straight, the powerful 3-1 winner pulled away to beat the talented runner-up, by two and a half lengths, in 28.66.

DOUBLES ALL ROUND
In the second of the night, Unknown Ivy finished with a flourish to win for the Tony Hegarty kennels, Carrignavar. The 5-1 shot broke well, but she lost her position before the opening corner and she had to produce a fantastic finish to land the spoils, in 29.43, a length clear of Witches West.
It was Tony Hegarty double after the success of Unknown Karma in the ninth as the 8-1 outsider overcame the trap five draw. Winning the all-important early lead, the strong running tracker pulled clear to win easily, in 29.26.

FAUL DOUBLE
Inniskeen Rhona just did enough to land the spoils in the third, an A7, for Youghal trainer Jake Faul. Owned by Sean Faul, the 9-4 favourite stopped the clock, in 30.08.
The Faul family are enjoying a year to remember at the seaside venue and they doubled up in the closing race as Inniskeen Love came home best of all to win the A6 contest, in 29.91, at odds of 2-1.

CURRAN DOUBLE
Loskeran Liberty went on to win the opener, an A5, in 29.77, for the in-form kennel of Martin Curran, Dungarvan.
Muffin Man, trained by Martin Curran, led all the way in the fifth, making it a double for the Dungarvan kennels. Pulling five lengths clear down the back, the in-form tracker, a 5-1 chance, was all out to beat the fast finishing Watch Out Val, by a short head, in 29.19. (A2).
