BOLT CAN DO IT IN RECORD TIME

BOLT CAN DO IT IN RECORD TIME

Barry Drake

JACKTAVERN BOLT can get punters off to a flying start in tonight's opening semi-final of the €30,000 to the winner Bar One Racing Irish Greyhound Laurels which is in association with the Friends & Supporters of Cork Greyhound Racing.

Graham Holland's dog has won his last eight, clocking some sensational times along the way. Owned by the Pillar Syndicate, he is expected to prove very popular among punters in the ninth of the night, the opening semi final of the Laurels Classic.

There's plenty of early zip on his inside, so he will need to rocket to the corner, but he's more than capable of winning the all-important early lead and from the front, he shouldn't be for catching.

Eazy Razzle, trained by Johnny Linehan for owner Barry Rocks, is the big finisher and she is expected to be in the mix late on. Burgess Supreme is drawn next to the rails for the Sheila Spillane and JJ Fennelly team. The National Produce Stakes Champion will need to produce his quickest start but he has strong claims of making the magical final. Glory Baz, quickest on the clock last week, for Graham Holland, Ballymun Boy is showing incredible early speed for trainer Rachel Wheeler and Clona Rocko should enjoy plenty of racing room out wide for trainer Michael Taggart.

ALDO MAKE ALL

Carrick Aldo is selected to make all the running in the second semi final for trainer David Murray and owner Thomas Glynn.

He lost very little in defeat last week, running a huge race behind Rathdown Molly from the outside of the track. The switch to trap four will suit and if the Dundalk Irish Sprint Cup Champion comes away racing, he will make them all go. Rathdown Molly was a fantastic winner last week and she's another leading player along the rails for trainer Marie Gilbert and owner Bill Mulholland. Glengar Martha, trained by Pat Buckley for William Wood, has caught the eye in recent weeks, showing huge speed and she will be near impossible to keep out of the frame. The Graham Holland trained Rural Taylor should be in the mix out wide, he's well drawn and Holland's other runner, High Trend, is another capable of delivering a big performance. Role Model makes up the contest and she's another special talent for the Owen McKenna team.

€10,000 TO THE WINNER

Also on the card, we have two fantastic semi finals of the €10,000 to the winner Michael (Bart) Leahy Memorial A2 stake.

Both looks wide open contests with plenty in with chances. Ballybawn Belle, trained by Paraic Campion for Ailbhe Cullen, should go well from the inside of the track in the opening heat.

Priceless Opera, also drawn in red, is selected to take the second heat for trainer Paul Hennessy and owners Bryan and Kathleen Murphy.
